Percy Riley began manufacturing its first car in 1898 at the age of sixteen years in the business bought by his father William Riley Jr. From 1913, the Riley brothers develop the business by building complete cars.
Riley was purchased by William Richard Morris in 1938 as Nuffield Organisation with Wolseley and MG brands. Then belongs to the British Motor Corporation in 1952 and became a hallmark of MG Rover.
Since 1994 and the takeover of MG Rover by BMW, the brand belongs to the German group.
