Ginetta Cars was founded in 1958 by four brothers Walklett (Bob, Ivor, Trevers and Douglas) in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England. Cars are currently (2008) held in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The first car, not intended for production, which subsequently became known as the G1 is based on a pre-war Wolseley Hornet. [1] From its original base, the company moved to Witham, Essex in 1962 and between 1972 and 1974 operated from large venues in Sudbury, Suffolk, before returning to Witham, where they remained until 1989.

Under the Walkletts, Trevers was primarily responsible for design, engineering contractors Ivor Douglas, management and sale of Bob. The company enjoyed 31 years of trading without any solvent brochures Government and under the able leadership of Bob Walklett the company always adapted to the economic conditions of the day.

Following the retirement of Walkletts in 1989 the company was sold, but failed and was bought by an international group of enthusiasts and based in Sheffield and led by managing director Martin Phaff produce the G20 and G33.

In late 2005, was bought by LNT Ginetta Automotive, a company run by Yorkshire businessman and racing driver Lawrence Tomlinson and Ginetta mid 2007 he moved to a larger factory near Leeds, to replace Sheffield works with goal of selling 300 cars a year.

The Texaco Havoline Ginetta G20 Championship represents a low-cost opportunity to participate in motorsports competition in the race car Ginetta G20. The championship series is updated for 2008, with sealed Ford Zetec 1.8-liter engines, gearboxes and differentials sealed. In combination with control tires and suspension parts, this ensures that the most popular, profitable but competitive racing series in Britain. The 2008 series consists of 20 rounds over 10 dates as part of the support package for the British GT / Formula 3 and only two Ginetta Festivals.
