International Harvester Company (IHC or IH) [1] has been a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, construction equipment, vehicles, commercial trucks, and household products and trade.

He was born as a result of the merger between the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company with the Deering Harvester Company in 1902, along with three other smaller companies: Milwaukee, Plano, and Warder, Bushnell, and Glessner (which produced the Champion brand). This consolidation needed for the time, was born under the name of International Harvester Company (IH), coming to be a giant in the industry.

It pioneered the manufacture of machinery with internal combustion engines. The first major IH tractor models were 10-20 and 15-30, the numbers referring to the power drawbar and pulley respectively. Introduced in 1915, the tractors (which were comparatively small with respect to their ancestors) were used primarily as traction to pull plows and turn threshing belts. 10-20 and 15-30 were versions Mogul (McCormick) and Titan (the Deering) respectively, which were the original marks of each company.

In 1924, IH introduced the Farmall tractor, smaller and multipurpose, Fordson to compete with the Ford Motor Company. The Farmall was the first tractor in the United States to incorporate a design similar to a tricycle, with the front wheels together and thus could be used in both low and high fields, such as cotton or corn.

In 1932 produced its first diesel engine, which combined for cold areas, a start on gasoline, which is then passed upon heating gasoil.

In the 1960s, losing share at the hands of the John Deere, which revolutionized the tractor industry with a new generation of power. But nevertheless, continued in the market, and February 1, 1973 left the tractor number 5 million Farmall plant in Illinois. Also that year to abandon the name Farmall tractors.

In 1977 IH introduced to the market the first axial flow combine harvester, pioneer of a generation until today.

In the 1980s, launches the 50 series IH tractors, that first-time computer monitoring and a system of synchronized 18-speed transmission, hydraulic system of three points, with a warranty of 3 years or 2500 hours. Many of these devices form part of the Magnum line of tractors introduced in 1987 by Case IH.

In 1985 sold its agricultural division to the Case Corporation, and renamed the company Navistar International Corporation.

after a few years separated from case to form a group with Landini, Laverda, and Valpadana, after many years of manufacturing tractors in Doncaster (UK) has spent Fabricco production (Italy) where they are produced jointly and Landini tractors mccormcik
