OSCA car logos and OSCA history


OSCA (Officine Specializate Costruzione Automobili) is a former car manufacturer founded by brothers Bindo, Ettore and Ernesto Maserati in 1947 in the outskirts of Bologna.
This company had two activities:
* Construction of small sports cars.
* Development of chassis and engines for racing Grand Prix class in Formula 1 and Formula 2.
In 1932, with the death of Alfieri Maserati, the Italian carmaker Maserati loses an engineer but especially the manager. His brothers Bindo, Ettore and Ernesto take the reins. Bindo takes the branch, Ernesto has the technical and Ettore returned fiscal responsibility. It will prove to be the weak link of the organization despite sporting and commercial success will be sold to Adolfo Orsi, a manufacturer of Modane.
The three brothers concluded a ten-year contract for technical assistance with the Orsi family in 1937. After this deadline, the three brothers formed the OSCA (Officine Specializate Costruzione Automobili), based in San Lazzaro, a suburb of Bologna.
On a tubular chassis with a body to cut and original engine of 1100 cm3, the car weighed less than 500 kg, thanks to its engine 70cv allowed him remarkable performance.
