SEMA 2009: HPP Daytona Challenger pictures

HPP Daytona Challenger pictures

We've heard of this car for three days, but we just could not find it. Then, just before lunch, one of our intrepid reporters followed the animal down into the bowels of tropical Central Hall Las Vegas Convention Center. That is: the Daytona PHP!

Yes, it's a new Dodge Challenger is a costume Charger Daytona, but updated for enthusiasts of muscle cars today. Under the hood is a standard 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which further proves the point that when it comes to / Daytona Superbird, that's what's outside that counts! Fortunately for us, PHP has a very good job outside.

The nose cone works and works well. Here is the hate mail, but this author thinks that the nose is actually better than the original 1969 Charger Daytona does. Here is a photo reference. To be fair, Schnoz PHP is actually much more like a Plymouth Superbird that Dodge. The wheels are large, the mouths of the false door are bad, the position is right ... and then we get to the rear fender.

While we are confident that they are the same size as the mondo size Daytona / Superbird wing, the trunk of the new Challenger is about half the length of the sixties / seventy cars. That means he looks ... not quite right. In addition, Mopar muscle car that has grown so much since forty years ago that the car is screaming for more wing. But we will happily take one, like the Daytona HPP was / is totally worth the hunt.
